Today, Tungle founder and former CEO Marc Gingras formally announced that the Tungle service will be shutting down on December 3rd this year.
This is not a surprise. Since RIM purchased Tungle in April 2011 there was no investment in the product and support was discontinued. The service continued to function but lately we were hearing about many technical issues.
During the last year some of Tungle’s users were already looking for a Tungle replacement. Many of them found ScheduleOnce and they were all very positively surprised:
- ScheduleOnce was able to do everything that Tungle could do and much more.
- ScheduleOnce was much faster and easier to use and their clients were very happy with the change.
- ScheduleOnce was much better suited for scheduling in a business environment.
So if you are a Tungle user and need a professional alternative to Tungle that can do everything you did with Tungle and much more, give ScheduleOnce a try:
- If you want similar capabilities to those you had in Tungle you can use the free plan or get a Plus or Premium account.
- If you want to experience the full power of ScheduleOnce we recommend that you sign up for the Professional plan or higher so that you can trial the complete feature set that ScheduleOnce has to offer.
If you need another proof point here is what people are saying about ScheduleOnce as a replacement for Tungle.

Tungle worked well for iPads and iPhones, does ScheduleOnce??
A mobile UI for the customer side is now in development and should be live around year end.
Best Regards,
Rami
I recently switched from Tungle to Scheduleonce. Works great! Going to sign up for premium account now that I’ve tested it out. Webste interface could be more visually appealing.
We need an iPhone app!! Keep up the good work!
Hi Allan,
I am glad to hear that ScheduleOnce is working well for you. We are currently working on a mobile UI for the customer side.
Best Regards,
Rami
I am a long-time Tungle user and am testing ScheduleOnce and Doodle currently as replacements. One glaring concern with ScheduleOnce (SO) is that it seems we have to manually send the meeting URL to the invitees. Why doesn’t SO have a mechanism to automatically send the invites during the scheduling process? I schedule so many meetings that I definitely do not want to make this a multi-step process going out of the SO application to paste the link and description again via my mail application. Am I missing something?
Thanks,
Hi Brian,
Yes, this is how it works – We do not send the link on your behalf and we have no plans to do it in the near future. The reason is that we do not want to connect to your address book and having you enter the email addresses manually is more work than sending it via your email.
Best Regards,
Rami
